As I sit here and think about the big show about to happen in Anaheim I think about dedication and sacrifice all these racers have made to get there. I also think about the many things in life to be passionate about and racing or the thrill of winning is certainly one of them. To some it’s the total driving force behind their lives, it defines who they are. In most cases though in motocross, the ultimate dream of making to a supercross main will never be achieved. This isn’t meant to be a downer but a reality check
Over the past several years I have got to know some racers who most would think have achieved ultimate success. In this sport though that success is only as good as your last race. So there is always this built in desire to feel that sense of accomplishment. Fortunately the racers I have been able to call my friends know that God has given them this gift and ultimately it’s there job. Just like your parents go into the office, these athletes realize this is only for a while and their true purpose is much more.
After the checkered flag, only one will have his purpose fulfilled and 19 unsatisfied if there only goal and purpose is to win. If you are a Christian first then you will always have fulfillment as the bible says in PHL 3:14 Press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
So perhaps 2012 is the year you adjust your racing program and put the right prize first and then everything else is like icing on the cake. I guarantee you will have a better time racing and who knows, God just might be looking for His next TC41 ambassador.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pilot Point, TX – Wharton Racing, in conjunction with the Masterpool family, is proud to announce Blake Wharton racing 956 to honor fallen rider, Jesse Masterpool, who passed in March 2010. Blake finished top 5 in East Coast Supercross points but the AMA does not recognize those points for number selection. With Blake missing all last summer due to double shoulder surgeries, he was not able to gain any points. In searching for a meaningful number to run, Blake remembered the RockStar Suzuki rider and knew it would be an honor to run Jesse’s number for the 2012 season.
Statement from the Masterpool Family: “We feel honored that Blake would want to ride with Jesse’s number, as we know Jesse as well as our MX family does. God blessed Jesse and filled him with HIS Spirit. We know of so many people with strong Faith as well as many questioning that Faith that have felt the Spirit in Jesse.
We have all shared in the joys and sufferings with Jesse. We hope we all continue with HIS Spirit to share and stay together to keep the Spirit alive, strong and growing. Our family and I know Jesse, feel so Blessed to have Blake, our extended MX family and so many of you that we continue to meet to be a part of our family, strengthening HIS Spirit in all of us.”
We are all looking forward to seeing Blake back on the bike, on a new brand, new team, new number and new shoulders. It’s been a long six months of recovery and Blake is looking forward to getting back to racing again. Blake will be racing the East coast Supercross Lites Series slated to start at his home track of Dallas Texas, February 18th 2012.
